------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Martin D. Abeloff, M.D.
On behalf of the faulty, staff and patients of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, it is my pleasure to thank you for your wonderful gift in memory of Kathryn D. Long from your 7th annual 5K Run for Kathy. Your support is critical to our success and allows us to continue our leadership in cancer research and treatment. As one of only 39 comprehensive cancer centers in the country, our patients and families benefit from innovative research and advanced therapies; a world-renowned faculty that includes clinicians and scientists who continue to make breakthrough discoveries in cancer research; and family and patient-care services delivered by the finest oncology physicians, nurses, counselors, and social workers. As we continue our work to advance cancer care and treatment, I thank you for becoming a partner in our future – your future – as we continue to turn research into results. I value your support and welcome your further involvement with the Kimmel Cancer Center.

I am very grateful for Run for Kathy’s commitment to The John Hopkins University School of Medicine. Directing the proceeds from the 7th Annual 5K Run for Kathy to benefit cancer research at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins is most appreciated. Since its inception in 1973, the Kimmel Cancer Center has been dedicated to better understanding human cancers and finding more effective treatment. Every day at Hopkins, the world’s finest doctors and scientists collaborate in the quest for answers – opening exciting new doors or discovery and saving lives. Your philanthropy helps make such extraordinary progress possible, enabling us to build upon the Hopkins tradition of excellence in research, education, and patient care. Please know that Run for Kathy’s continued support in memory of your cousin, Kathryn D. Long, positively impacts patients, students, researchers, and physicians at Hopkins and around the world. Thank you.
Back to TopFrom Kathy Harget Thank you once again for all that you and the Run for Kathy crew do to pull off such a lovely event each year. I personally enjoy being a part of it and seeing how many people come together in honor and memory of Kathy each year. You do fabulous work! And you make an impact in many ways that help cancer patients and their families. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
Back to TopFrom Michael Hibler Thanks for the water bottles and t-shirts! Many of the patients at the houses (Hackerman-Patz and Rockwell patient and family houses) use the water bottles and bring with them back and forth to the hospital because it is expensive to buy bottled water every day. The shirts are always needed for our patients who come to Hopkins only thinking that they are going to be in town for a couple of days, and then end up here for months or longer.
